Fasting From Wrong Thinking – Don’t Get Your Hopes Up

Posted on Feb 09, 2009 under Wrong Thinking | No Comment

On day 11 of Pastor Dickow’s list of wrong thinking we see “Don’t Get Your Hopes Up”.  He discusses the mindset that has crept into our thinking that says we are better off if we do not expect too much.  As a result, we do not expect good things to happen to us.  This is a mindset that we must definitely kick to the curb, especially if we are looking to prosper.

Regardless of your religious beliefs, most people will agree that faith is important.  Everyone has faith in something, even if it is in what they perceive to be the negative things in life.  People will say that nothing good ever happens to them.  They will then look for the bad in every situation that happens to them and they will find it.

As a Christian, my faith and hope are anchored in God.  Biblically speaking, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).  Therefore, faith is what my hope is made of.  If I allow myself to have no hope, there is nothing for faith to be the substance of.

Get your hopes up concerning the things in your life, especially your finances.  Do you run an internet business?  Then expect it to soar.  You need people for your downline?  Then expect to find people.  Don’t be afraid to try new marketing techniques or approach new people with your business idea.  When you get your hopes up, your faith will soar also.

Sticky Thread on Freelunchroom.com

Posted on Jan 15, 2009 under Incentivized Freebie Site | No Comment

I have my first sticky on FreeLunchroom.com for the New Year and it is exciting. My trade thread is posted among the top 10 threads for the next day or so. I have already completed 1 trade, paid my referral and was paid by the site. I am looking forward to paying more referrals today.

Let me explain how this works. I am featuring Zip Nada Zlich sites. These are sites that will give you a prize for referring people to complete a few sponsor offers. Many of the offers are free or low cost. I pay referrals to complete the site. In turn, I am paid by the site for getting the referral. Pretty simple.

My first referral completed paypal.zipnadazilch.com. They completed “1 credit” worth of offers which is usually 2-3 offers. They probably spent no more than $10 on all of the offers total. I paid them $25, so they were able to get all of their offers for free plus a few extra bucks on the side. I was paid $48 by the site so I basically made $23 just for giving them the link. Not bad for about 15 minutes worth of work.

Fasting From Wrong Thinking: Day 1 – “I can’t”

Posted on Jan 12, 2009 under Wrong Thinking | No Comment

The first thought that Pastor Dickow has on his list of wrong thinking is “I can’t”. He list several things that I have been guilty of saying, such as “I can’t believe that”, or “I can’t get it done”.

Often times we use “I can’t” when we really mean “I do not want to”. We may even think that we are doing the right thing and not hurting someone’s feelings by not letting them know what we really think. However, we must be careful. Remember that what we say has a direct effect on our success.

Pay attention to that the next time you say, “I can’t”, especially in the area of finances. Instead of telling your teenager, “I can’t afford to buy that for you”, just tell them the truth. Explain to them that either you don’t want to make that purchase at this time or you really do not want them to have the item that they are asking you for. If you continue to say, “I can’t afford…” you will constantly face situations where you truly will not be able to afford the things that you seek.

So, we are kicking “I can’t” to the curb. Remind yourself that you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).

Fasting from Wrong Thinking

Posted on Jan 05, 2009 under Thoughts | 1 Comment

Are you thinking about having a successful year?  If not, you should be.  Everything begins as a thought.  Think about the following idea that was expressed by Hillel, a famous Jewish religious leader.

  • Guard your thoughts, for they become your words.
  • Guard your words, for they become your actions.
  • Guard your actions, for they become your habits.
  • Guard your habits, for they become your character.
  • Guard your character, for it becomes your destiny.

Your destiny is beginning formed by your thoughts.  What are you thinking?  Is it positive or are you thinking about your destruction?

I would like to invite you to join me in a fast.  It is not a typical fast where you abstain from food.  It is a fast where you abstain from wrong thinking.

I found this site, Gregory Dickow Ministries, last year and it was really a blessing.  Unfortunately, I did not stick with it.  This year I am determined to go thought the entire 40 days of Fasting from Wrong Thinking.  The best way for me to do this is to include it as part of my blog.  So, everyday for the next 40 days I will blog about my fast and highlight the wrong thinking that I am fast from on that day.

Please join me in this fast.  Feel free to visit the ministry site “ From The Inside Out”.  Pastor Dickow has a ton of resources that you can use on this journey.  Let’s start this year off right.  Our destiny depends on it.

You Will Be Rich!

Posted on Dec 14, 2008 under General Information | 3 Comments

Your destiny is to have wealth.  Yes, you.  You are going to be rich and prosperous!  Do you agree with me?  I hope so.  One of the greatest promises in the bible deals with two people agreeing on the same thing.

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 18:19

Look at the power of agreement!

Are the people around you believing in your success?  Do they think that it is only a matter of time before you experience that great financial breakthrough or do they think you are just wasting your time and you need to get a “real job”?  You need to have someone in your corner that will agree with you that your time for greatness has come.  Allow me to be that person for you today.

Father God, I pray that everyone that reads this blog will realize how awesome You are and how awesome You have made them.  I touch and agree with them that their prosperity and wealth are quickly on the way and that when it arrives, it will be a blessing to them and those around them.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I know that doors will open for you today like never before.  Great ideas will flood your mind today.  You are one day closer to your great breakthrough!

Building Belief with Mind Movies

Posted on Dec 08, 2008 under General Information | 1 Comment

Everything that I have read on being wealthy and preparing yourself for prosperity states that you must first believe. True belief can be very hard, especially when we are being fed so much “unbelief”.

One of my favorite stories in the Bible talks about a father who brings his child to Jesus’ disciples for healing. They were not able to do it. When Jesus came and asked what was happening, the father explained about how the disciples were not able to heal the child. He went on to plead with Jesus to have compassion on them because the child, as well as the family, was in a lot of torment.

Jesus replied with what seemed to be a very simply answer. “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” (Mark 9:23) Notice that He said ALL things, not some. The father replied, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”

Other books from non religious sources state the same thing. You must believe. And many of us do, to a great extent. Our problem is like that of the father. We need help with our unbelief.

Doubt and unbelief are twins that can rob us of our futures. You must actively combat them. One of the best ways is through visualization. Can you see yourself on that dream vacation? Can you see yourself having money to give away to those in need? Can you picture your family enjoying a great meal in that new house? As the saying goes, “Seeing is Believing”.

I was introduced to something called “Mind Movies” on a great online forum called Business Minded Individuals. Mind Movies are little inspirational movies that you can make to help you “see” success in your life. You can download a couple of free mind movies from the site and even purchase software to make your own. If you know enough about Microsoft Moviemaker or similar programs, you can make your own without special software. They are great.

You can personalize them to include whatever you want. I made one for my family and my kids love it. I also made some to help me focus on Bible scriptures that I want to meditate on. I have included one here, but you can see the rest of my movies on my youtube channel. If you search youtube for mind movies, you will see hundreds that people have created.

What Do You Believe?

Posted on Dec 04, 2008 under General Information | 2 Comments

Is there a relationship between what you believe about money and your manifested wealth?  I believe there is.  Every book that I have read on the subject, including the Bible, various Christian literature on prosperity, The Science of Getting Rich, The Secret and the like all have at least one central theme.  You must believe that you can receive something before your can true experience the manifestation of it.  Therefore, you must believe you can be rich and have wealth in order to attract wealth and riches to you.

First, you must examine how you feel about money.  If the idea of money makes you feel depressed, angry or uninterested, you will have a difficult time attracting money to you.  If you feel that wealthy people are bad or that you don’t need money to be happy, you will repel money from coming your way.

Let look at the idea of making money on the internet.  If you feel that every opportunity to make money on the internet is a scam, you are not going to attract real internet opportunities to you.  And even if you are able to attract a few opportunities to you, your predisposition regarding internet opportunities will cause you to reject some of the real opportunities that are out there.  Mind you, I am not saying don’t be diligent in researching opportunities.  All I am saying is that you must believe that there are real opportunities out there.

What I Know Already

Posted on Nov 29, 2008 under General Information | 2 Comments

How do we begin this journey to wealth and riches?  Well, we must first have a plan.  I am formulating my plan from several documents, including the Bible, and other books.  Now I know that many of you that are Christians will argue that if you have the Bible, you don’t need any other books.  Up until recently, I would have made that same argument.  However, I am convinced that there are several things explained in the Bible that I simply do not understand to the fullest.  God, through the Holy Spirit, has used several things to teach me basic principles.  I will point out a few examples as we get to them.

I am beginning my journey by looking at a list of things that I believe that I know based on the bible.  I then added scriptures to each of these (as I will do in future post),  For now, I am just sharing my list.  How about you?  What principles are you starting with?

  1. God loves me.
  2. I can trust God to keep his word.
  3. My faith is required.  I only need a small amount.
  4. By faith, I am the seed of Abraham and therefore I am part of the covenant with Abraham.
  5. I can have what I say.
  6. I can have whatever I ask for when I pray.
  7. I must guard watch what I say.
  8. I cannot let doubt into my heart.
  9. I must wait patiently for the manifestation.
  10. God has pleasure in my prosperity.
  11. God’s will is for me not to be in debt.
  12. God directs me to do things that will increase my prosperity.
  13. God will supply my needs.
  14. I have hope (great expectation) concerning my prosperity.
